Business Planning Assistance

The mission of the Larimer County Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is to provide high-quality and cost-effective small business assistance, information and support which fosters the successful growth and development of small businesses and results in a positive long-term economic impact on our communities. Our mission is accomplished through:

• One-on-one counseling to start-up and existing businesses

• Training and workshops on business-related topics

• Help in obtaining financing from public and private sources

• Referrals to resources that provide appropriate business assistance

Our training and counseling goals include:

• Helping you determine whether self-employment and the type of business you've chosen is right for you

• Guiding you through development of a comprehensive business plan

• Helping you identify the strengths and weaknesses of your skills, knowledge, interest and resources in managing each aspect of your business

• Helping you network with other business and community resources that can provide valuable information and expertise to your business start-up or expansion

• Helping you finance your small business, through your own resources, venture capital or bank loans

As a client of the SBDC you'll learn about various aspects of running your business -- from concept to strategy, from recordkeeping to financing, from marketing to management. Your SBDC advisors and trainers will also help you network with local business professionals, who work in partnership with the SBDC to provide the information you need to ensure your success.

The SBDC offers regularly scheduled half-day classes on business-related topics, including:

• Business Planning for Success

• Recordkeeping and Taxes

• Business Marketing

• Legal Entities and Employment Law

• Financing Your Small Business
